SoftBank Group founder Masayoshi Son said that by 2040, global artificial intelligence infrastructure will require $5 trillion in investment each year. According to Jin10, Son said the spending would support the expansion of data centers, power supply, and humanoid robots, and would drive a shift from a “human-centered” work model to a new model. Son said that as AI develops into “artificial super intelligence” (ASI), the revenue generated would justify the massive expenditures. “AI will completely change our lives—and that change will bring profits,” he said.
