China Issues Guidance to Advance Internet Infrastructure and Integrate AI and Blockchain

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other departments have issued guidance aimed at promoting the high-quality development of internet foundational resources, including plans to strengthen technological innovation and key research programs. According to Foresight News, the document calls for enhanced planning for internet science and technology innovation and for advancing relevant national key R&D programs and major science and technology projects. The guidance emphasizes boosting original technology innovation and pursuing integrated innovation that combines technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and distributed identifiers with internet foundational resources. It also highlights efforts to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies including dynamic network optimization, intelligent resource scheduling, and secure data interaction. In addition, the document calls for strengthening innovation in the IPv6 technology system to address issues such as protocol compatibility and high-performance transmission. It also outlines goals to advance key technologies for satellite internet mega-constellation networking, rapid routing switching, and reliable, interference-resistant transmission. The guidance further mentions the need to break through key technologies for large-scale deployment and application of resource public key infrastructure.
