WORLD CUP | Tuchel Says He Has No Explanation for Quansah’s Two-Match Ban

England manager Thomas Tuchel said he has been offered no explanation for defender Jarell Quansah’s upgraded two-match World Cup suspension for “serious foul play” after Quansah was sent off in the win over Mexico, according to Yahoo Sports. The ban rules Quansah out of the quarter-final against Norway and a possible semi-final if England advance. Tuchel said he did not believe his criticism of World Cup refereeing after the Mexico match affected the sanction. Declan Rice, Marc Guehi and Reece James trained on match eve, with James returning from a hamstring injury and Rice (illness) and Guehi (hamstring) having been doubts after missing training earlier in the week; England face Erling Haaland and Norway in Miami on Saturday evening. Jordan Henderson remained in the England camp after surgery on an arm injury suffered while celebrating the Mexico win.
