Sony Receives Conditional OCC Approval to Establish National Trust Bank for U.S. Dollar Stablecoin Business

Sony has received conditional approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a national trust bank and plans to launch Connectia Trust in 2027. According to Odaily, Connectia Trust will focus on the issuance and management of U.S. dollar stablecoins. The trust subsidiary will be under Sony Financial Group and will have $40 million in capital.
