Toyota to Launch U.S.-Made Highlander Hybrid Nationwide in Japan on August 1

Toyota Motor Corp. said on July 1 that it will begin nationwide sales in Japan of a reverse-imported, U.S.-made Highlander SUV on August 1, according to 36Kr. The model, which debuted in Tokyo in April, will be sold as a hybrid (HV) priced at 8.6 million yen (about 360,000 yuan). Toyota set a nationwide monthly sales target of 40 units. As of the end of June, the earlier Tokyo launch had received about 10 orders, mainly from corporate executives.
