STOCKS | ICE Plans Futures Linked to Central Bank Rate Decisions and U.S. Natural Gas Inventories

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, is planning to launch new futures contracts tied to global monetary policy decisions and U.S. natural gas inventories, according to company executives. According to Odaily, ICE intends to introduce futures products based on interest rate decisions by the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, and the Bank of England. Subject to regulatory approval, ICE plans to list these economic indicator-based products on August 10. The company said the contracts are designed to allow investors to trade or hedge around scheduled policy meetings of the three central banks and weekly U.S. natural gas inventory data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
