Altcoins See Deepest Spot Selling Since 2020 as CryptoQuant Season Index Nears Trigger

Altcoin sell pressure on spot exchanges has fallen to its most negative level since 2020, extending 15 straight months of net selling outside Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). According to BeInCrypto, a separate CryptoQuant gauge points the other way, with its 180-day Altcoin Season Index at 18.48 and analysts saying an “altcoin season begins in earnest” once it crosses 20. CryptoQuant analyst IT Tech said the spot data reflect “15 months of continuous net selling,” while other commentators split on whether selective rotation is starting or a broader cycle may wait until 2028 or 2029.
