China's Social Financing Growth Hits 17.48 Trillion Yuan in Jan-May, Above Forecast

China's central bank said the cumulative increase in social financing reached 17.48 trillion yuan in the first five months of the year, above the market forecast of 17.15 trillion yuan. According to Ming Pao, the figure was 1.16 trillion yuan lower than the same period a year earlier, while May's increase alone was 2.03 trillion yuan, above the market expectation of 1.7 trillion yuan.
