Bank of England Deputy Governor Sarah Breeden highlighted the potential advantages of tokenization in reducing costs, accelerating settlements, and enhancing competition within payments and financial markets. According to NS3.AI, Breeden emphasized the importance of maintaining central bank money as the foundation of the monetary system amidst the development of tokenized deposits, regulated stablecoins, and a potential retail Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
