Foresight News posted on X (formerly Twitter) that North Korean hackers have reportedly stolen more than $6 billion in cryptocurrency since 2017, according to a recent report by TRM Labs. In April, these hackers allegedly took nearly $600 million in digital assets during attacks on Drift Protocol and Kelp DAO, accounting for 76% of the total losses for the month.
The report highlights a significant increase in the share of global cryptocurrency hacking losses attributed to North Korean hackers. This share has grown from less than 10% in 2020 and 2021 to 22% in 2022, 37% in 2023, 39% in 2024, and is projected to reach 64% in 2025.
