Visa Enters Blockchain Infrastructure with Tempo Node Operation

Visa has announced its entry into blockchain infrastructure by operating an anchor validator node on the Stripe-backed Tempo blockchain. According to NS3.AI, this marks Visa's first venture into running blockchain infrastructure. The company stated that it configured and managed the node entirely in-house following six months of collaboration with Tempo's engineering team. Tempo, which launched last month, features the Machine Payments Protocol, enabling software and AI agents to autonomously pay for services. Visa also revealed plans to operate nodes on additional blockchains following the Tempo integration.
