Global Money Supply Reaches Record High in December 2025

The Kobeissi Letter posted on X that the global broad money supply increased by $13.6 trillion year-on-year, or 10.4%, in December 2025, reaching a record $144 trillion. This marks the third consecutive month of accelerated growth. Since 2000, the global money supply has grown by $118 trillion, reflecting a compounded annual growth rate of 7.0% over 25 years. Since the onset of the 2020 pandemic, the money supply has surged by $44 trillion, or 44%. The fastest increase during this period was recorded in February 2021, at 18.7%. Such rapid global money creation has not been observed outside of a crisis.
