R&F Properties (02777) said it and its legal representative and chairman, Li Silian, have recently been added to a high-consumption restriction list, according to ETNet. China Merchants Bank (03968) said approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration has cleared Zhang Yong to serve as an independent director, with his term effective from September 8 until the end of the bank's 13th board of directors, according to ETNet. HSBC Holdings bought back 499,200 shares in Hong Kong yesterday for cancellation at HK$164.8 to HK$166.9 each, with a weighted average price of HK$165.8736, according to ETNet. The repurchase cost about HK$82.8041 million. HSBC also repurchased 10,000 shares in the UK market yesterday at 15.518 to 15.74 pounds each, with a weighted average price of 15.6524 pounds, costing 156,500 pounds.
