DeepSeek Introduces Manifold-Constrained Hyperconnections to Enhance Network Stability

According to PANews, DeepSeek has released a new paper proposing a novel architecture called Manifold-Constrained Hyperconnections (mHC). This development aims to address issues of training instability and limited scalability in hyperconnection networks (HC) caused by disruptions in identity mapping properties. The mHC architecture maps the residual connection space of HC to a specific manifold to restore identity mapping characteristics, while incorporating rigorous infrastructure optimization to ensure efficiency. This approach has led to significant performance improvements and superior scalability. DeepSeek anticipates that mHC will serve as a flexible and practical extension of HC, contributing to a deeper understanding of topological architecture design and indicating promising directions for the evolution of foundational models. The paper lists Zhenda Xie, Yixuan Wei, and Huanqi Cao as the first authors, with Wenfeng Liang also included among the authors.
