According to CoinDesk, the bi-weekly market update of CoinDesk Indices (CDI) has been released, showcasing the performance of the top performers and underperformers in the CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20) and the CoinDesk Market Index (CMI).
The majority of the CoinDesk 20 members, except for two, ended Thursday at higher levels than the previous Friday. This includes Bitcoin, which saw a 7.6% increase, and Ether, which experienced a 1.6% rise.
The token of the smart contract platform, Near Protocol, saw the highest increase among index members, with a 10% rise this week. The token, known as NEAR, has appreciated over 50% month-on-month, significantly outperforming the next best performer, Solana, which saw a 20% increase.
On the other hand, the two assets that experienced a decrease this week were the Layer 0 platform Cosmos and Layer 1 Aptos, which fell by 3% and 1.4% respectively.
The CoinDesk 20, which tracks the top digital assets, can be invested in on multiple platforms. The broader CMI includes approximately 180 tokens and seven crypto sectors: currency, smart contract platforms, DeFi, culture & entertainment, computing, and digitization.
