According to Jin10, South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance held a roundtable with semiconductor experts to review industry trends and future demand prospects, amid concerns about AI data center regulation following the U.S. midterm elections that contributed to stock market volatility.
Participants assessed that the medium- to long-term growth outlook for AI and semiconductors remained valid, citing major AI companies' investment progress and future plans, as well as semiconductor demand growth driven by wider adoption of agentic AI.
They said no clear signs of a contraction in AI investment or semiconductor demand had been observed, despite some financial market concerns. Short-term demand was expected to remain stable, taking into account factors including expanded long-term supply contracts by South Korean semiconductor companies.
