2016 Formula One world champion Nico Rosberg recently test-drove a Tesla Cybertruck equipped with FSD Supervised in San Francisco and described the experience as life-changing. According to Sina Finance, Rosberg said on LinkedIn that FSD handled most of his commute during a week of founder meetings arranged by his investment firm, Rosberg Ventures, helping him arrive focused rather than exhausted. He said 75% of new Teslas delivered in North America last quarter came equipped with FSD, up from 55% three months earlier. Rosberg wrote that buyers now choose the software first, with the car as a package. Tesla’s official account reposted a comment that even the world’s top drivers were willing to let a car drive them, and Elon Musk reposted it, saying that even F1 champions like Tesla’s self-driving technology. Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja confirmed the 75% rate on the company’s 2026 third-quarter earnings call; the 55% figure came from its 2026 second-quarter financial report. Rosberg also acknowledged Waymo’s lead in autonomous driving, but said that driving better than humans was not enough for him and that the goal should be zero accidents. He said Europe remained far behind in the technology and needed to accelerate its progress.
