Intel CEO Tan Lip-Bu said the memory shortage will worsen further. According to Sina Finance, he also said power supply and cooling technology will become core challenges in the semiconductor market. At an AI infrastructure forum in Santa Clara, California, on the 15th, Tan said memory shortages were one of the industry problems he wanted startup founders entering AI infrastructure to solve. He said memory capacity is extremely limited, many projects have been delayed because they cannot secure enough memory, and memory prices have risen five to seven times. He added that it is difficult to obtain memory supply for mid- and low-end phones and laptops. Tan also said power and cooling are difficult problems. He said low power consumption in some applications makes chip architecture design and interconnect technology very important, and that Intel is investing in air cooling, liquid cooling, and microfluidic cooling technologies. He said Intel will continue its partnership with Nvidia and that companies cannot do everything themselves, but should focus on the areas where they are strongest and work with other firms that have advantages.
