Sonic Labs co-founder and Flying Tulip founder Andre Cronje reposted a statement from former executive Michael Kong and said Sonic Labs' related blog post was offensive and unfounded. According to Foresight News, Kong said he questioned the founding team's plagiarism allegations as early as 2018, gave up his salary after a $40 million fundraising round was reduced to less than $2 million, and helped push a South Korea lawsuit involving about $150 million to victory.
Kong said that, against the backdrop of falling token prices, the project owner forced his dismissal to calm public opinion, which he said was not appropriate. He also said Sonic Labs recently announced that its relationship with him was terminated immediately without giving a reason, creating the impression that he had been removed for misconduct.
Kong said his departure was not voluntary. He added that both sides had signed severance and non-disparagement agreements, but the other party refused to honor them, and the original contractor agreement was also not fulfilled. He said he was responding publicly and reserved the right to sue Sonic Labs and related parties.
