Zcash NU7 Vote Ends September 14 on Issuance Curve and Block Time Changes

Zcash community voting on the NU7 network upgrade will end on September 14, with the main proposal replacing periodic halvings with a smoother issuance curve. According to ChainCatcher, another proposal would shorten block intervals from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. The plan would not change ZEC's total supply cap, but would adjust the pace of new coin issuance. The vote is advisory, and any approved changes would still require development and deployment. ZEC recently hit its highest level since 2018 and is now ranked 10th by market capitalization.
