Scroll Plans Nine-Month Transition to AI-Focused Network

Scroll said its team has recently expanded the use of AI across operations and product development, reducing the need for more than 20 engineers on core chain operations to a smaller dedicated team working with AI agents while maintaining availability and security standards. According to ChainCatcher, the team said blockchain can serve as a trusted coordination layer for defining and enforcing rules, while ZK can help agents interact with credentials, private data, and computation without exposing underlying information. The team is building an interconnected product stack that includes Compass, an iOS app with access to large models and functions through the Compass API, along with VPN and eSIM features. According to ChainCatcher, Compass API is an AI routing infrastructure connected to more than 30 large models, CENO uses ZK to provide a trust layer for credentials, agent context, and privacy-preserving computation, USX is used for payments and settlement, SCR continues to coordinate governance, and the Scroll network serves as the trust and coordination layer. CENO has contacted more than 30 potential customers, with 12 participating in proof-of-concept testing. The team plans to gradually transform Scroll from a general-purpose public blockchain into a dedicated network centered on Compass and its AI product stack, with the transition expected to take about nine months. Under the current plan, SCR will move to Ethereum mainnet to preserve accessibility and liquidity, while supply and token economics will remain unchanged and SCR will continue to serve as the governance token. The post was described as a progress update rather than an official proposal or vote, and the team said it will later submit proposals for the network transition and any matters requiring DAO approval.
