Haid Group (002311.SZ) said at a broker strategy conference that Peru, the world's largest fishmeal supplier this year, will see its 2026 catch quota fall sharply from a year earlier because of El Nino and a relatively high share of juvenile fish, sending fishmeal supply into extreme tightness and pushing prices sharply higher.
The company said future fishing progress in Peru will affect the direction of fishmeal prices. Fishmeal is a key protein ingredient in animal feed, so higher prices will raise costs across the feed and aquaculture supply chain, according to ETNet. Haid Group, a technology-led global agricultural company with businesses spanning animal nutrition, breeding, animal health vaccines, smart farming and food processing, fell 1.46% to RMB43.97.
