Robot stocks strengthened on September 7, with the Robot ETF China Merchants (560770) benchmark index up 2.15% by 10:29 a.m. and shares including Bojie Co., Topstar, Han's Laser, BOCHU Electronic, Green Harmonic and Orbbec leading gains. Jiemian News reported that Tesla placed a one-time batch order for several thousand Optimus humanoid robots with key suppliers in early September, its first large-scale order since it began production guidance in April.
According to suppliers cited in the report, the customer placed orders for about 5,000 units at once, with volumes varying by supplier depending on their share. Tesla's Fremont factory line began debugging in July and completed initial debugging in mid-August, with yield gradually improving. Tesla's internal 2026 plan calls for at least 10,000 to 20,000 units of shipments, while year-end weekly output could be revised up from the previously planned 2,500 units. The report said the batch order marks a shift from prototype validation to batch orders for Tesla's humanoid robot program.
