BOC Fund Names Chen Weixing Executive President

BOC Fund said on September 5 that former chief inspector and deputy executive president Chen Weixing has been appointed executive president, effective September 4. After stepping down from his previous roles, the chief inspector post remains vacant and Chen will continue to act in that capacity, according to Jiemian News. The move follows the departure of former executive president Zhang Jiawen on August 10, when he left for a planned role as executive president of BOC Investment (Hong Kong). Chen joined BOC Fund in 2022. Public records show he previously worked at Bank of China headquarters and branches in several senior roles. Jiemian News also reported that BOC Fund’s management has been updated again after Liu Xinqun formally became chairman and legal representative on December 11, 2025. Wind data showed the firm’s public fund assets under management reached 731.716 billion yuan at the end of the second quarter of 2026, a record high. Of that, money market funds accounted for 453.503 billion yuan, non-money market funds for 278.112 billion yuan, bond funds for 233.361 billion yuan, hybrid funds for 21.993 billion yuan and equity funds for 9.048 billion yuan. As of the end of the second quarter, BOC Fund managed 334 public funds, with 145 products above 200 million yuan each and 11 funds above 10 billion yuan each. It had 113 active equity funds, including 59 so-called mini funds with less than 50 million yuan each. Jiemian News reported that the firm launched 14 funds so far this year, including four active hybrid funds with initial sizes of 66 million yuan, 10 million yuan, 16 million yuan and 15 million yuan.
