Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine will not launch air strikes during the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. According to Sina Finance, Zelenskyy said the two are due to visit Russia in the coming days and Ukraine on September 6, and that Ukraine is preparing for the visits and has held a meeting with its diplomatic team responsible for work with the United States.
He said Ukraine will ensure Russian airspace operates normally during the relevant period so the U.S. negotiators can arrive safely, and that Russia should take reciprocal measures and stop air attacks for the time needed for the talks and related logistics issues. Zelenskyy also said Ukraine hopes the visit and talks with the United States will be as constructive and substantive as possible, and will look for practical ways to help end the war.
