Hong Kong Marathon 2027 will be held on January 17 next year and has added 4,000 half-marathon entries, lifting total race slots to 78,000, a record high, according to ETNet.
The organisers also plan to add a new 5-km seaside run on January 16 and expand the Youth Run, bringing the expected total number of runners to 84,000. Public ballot registration will open at 2:00 PM on this month 11.
The organisers said last year’s Hong Kong Marathon drew 120,000 applicants. As demand for half-marathon places has been strongest in recent years, the half-marathon quota for this edition will rise 16% to 29,000. The event will again include marathon, half-marathon, 10-km and wheelchair races, with age categories unchanged and places reserved for people with disabilities.
