China's January-July Services Trade Grows 8.3% As Travel And Transport Exports Lead

China's total services trade rose 8.3% year on year to RMB 4.44671 trillion in the first seven months of 2026, with exports up 17.1% to RMB 1.77323 trillion and imports up 3.2% to RMB 2.67348 trillion, according to ETNet. The services trade deficit narrowed by RMB 176.33 billion to RMB 900.25 billion. Travel service exports climbed 27.7% to RMB 263.61 billion, while transport service exports increased 27.1% to RMB 363.23 billion, making them the fastest-growing areas among the top five services trade sectors by export size. Knowledge-intensive services accounted for more than half of services exports. Their trade volume rose 6.6% to RMB 1.96062 trillion, or 44.1% of total services trade. Knowledge-intensive service exports grew 12.2% to RMB 948.28 billion, representing 53.5% of total services exports, while imports rose 1.9% to RMB 1.01234 trillion. Exports of personal, cultural and entertainment services and intellectual property royalties grew the fastest, up 57.8% and 42.1%, respectively.
