STOCKS | Tesla Tops South Korea's Imported Car Sales for Seventh Straight Month

Tesla was the best-selling imported passenger car brand in South Korea for the seventh straight month in August. According to Sina Finance, citing industry data released on Thursday, the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association said South Korea registered 29,817 new imported passenger cars last month, up 9.2% from a year earlier. Tesla led the market with 10,400 sales and has held the top spot since February. BMW ranked second with 6,180 sales, Mercedes-Benz was third with 3,959, and BYD placed fourth with 2,846. Tesla's Model Y Premium was the best-selling imported model last month with 7,490 sales, and electric vehicles accounted for about half of all imported passenger car registrations in August at 15,183 units.
