With 100 days left before the 2026 midterm elections, crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto said on X on July 26 that nearly 70% of surveyed crypto holders said a candidate’s crypto position would affect their vote, and nearly 80% said they are almost certain to vote. According to Odaily, the group said 73% of surveyed crypto holders are closely watching which crypto policies lawmakers support, while 59% do not consistently back a single political party.
Stand With Crypto also said crypto supporters have contacted Congress more than 1 million times about related legislation. Market attention is centered on the CLARITY Act, the 2025 Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which would define the responsibilities of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in digital asset regulation and affect whether some digital assets are treated as securities or commodities under federal oversight.
Supporters of the bill said the window to advance legislation before the election-year agenda tightens is limited. Opponents said any new framework needs to preserve protections against fraud, market manipulation, and investor losses. The discussions also cover exchange access, investment products, taxation, and the role of federal regulators in digital finance.
