TRON has released GreatVoyage-v4.8.2 (Pyrrho), adding compatibility with Ethereum Pectra and Osaka upgrades, along with a CLZ instruction and secp256r1 signature verification precompile. According to ChainCatcher, the update also migrates fastjson to Jackson and shifts node monitoring metrics from InfluxDB to Prometheus.
The upgrade is intended to improve smart contract compatibility, interface handling, node monitoring, and operations management. TRON said the version is mandatory, and node operators must complete the update by 11:59 PM Singapore time on August 16, 2026, to avoid affecting block synchronization. The Event Plugin has also been upgraded to v3.0, and nodes using the official plugin must upgrade the plugin before updating the node version, while nodes using self-developed plugins should complete adaptation as soon as possible.
