Nvidia on July 21 launched its next-generation Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system for hyperscale AI infrastructure based on the Vera Rubin platform. According to Jiemian News, the system delivers 102.4 Tbps of switching capacity, twice that of the previous generation, and is designed to connect hundreds of thousands of GPUs and CPUs for large-scale AI training, agentic applications and inference workloads.
Nvidia said Spectrum-6 will be a core component of its next-generation Spectrum-X Ethernet platform, using high bandwidth, intelligent traffic management and fault recovery to improve overall computing efficiency in AI factories. CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceXAI and Tesla will be among the first users to deploy the system, according to Jiemian News.
