According to CNBC, the CNBC All-America Economic Survey found that 32% of registered voters were more likely to support a candidate who calls themself a Democratic socialist, while 50% were less likely. By comparison, 29% said they would be more likely to back a candidate endorsed by President Donald Trump, and 52% were less likely; 27% were more likely to support a candidate who backs the MAGA movement, and 57% were less likely. The poll was conducted July 8-12 among 1,000 registered voters with a margin of error of +/-3.1%.
The survey also showed Democrats with a four percentage-point lead on the generic ballot, with 49% preferring a Democrat-controlled Congress versus 45% for Republican control. It found President Donald Trump’s approval rating at 40%, with 59% disapproving, while 60% disapproved of his handling of the economy. The poll said 28% of voters viewed socialism positively, up from 18% in 2024, while 50% viewed capitalism positively, little changed from 51% in 2024.
