SBI Group, DigiFT, and Startale Complete PoC for Tokenized Securities Using JPYSC Stablecoin

SBI Group, DigiFT, and Startale Group have completed a joint proof of concept (PoC) on the Ethereum testnet, using the JPYSC yen-pegged stablecoin to demonstrate the full lifecycle of tokenized securities. According to Odaily, the PoC included near-instant settlement of fund subscriptions and automated on-chain dividend distribution. The three firms are advancing the tokenization of the SBI Japan High Dividend Equity Fund, managed by SBI Asset Management with approximately $1.3 billion in assets under management, one of Japan's major public equity strategies. Two tests were conducted. One demonstrated the use of JPYSC for near-instant settlement of fund subscriptions. The other used a smart contract to automatically calculate and distribute dividends to eligible token holders' wallets after the distribution record was completed. The companies plan to explore integrating tokenized Japanese equities with institutional DeFi platforms and are considering testing use cases such as collateralized lending and on-chain asset management with ecosystem partners including Morpho and Gauntlet.
