According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Reuters, the US Department of Justice said on July 10 that a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh indicted 32-year-old Robert Hlovchiec of Pennsylvania on 12 counts after he allegedly posted threats of violence targeting a member of Congress, Muslims, transgender people, Democrats, and other minorities. The DOJ said Hlovchiec, who described himself as a Nazi and white supremacist, made the threats in comments under YouTube videos between February and March and spoke of mass shootings and assassination; the statement did not identify the lawmaker. Prosecutors charged him with transmitting threats across state lines and using threats to try to influence, impede, or retaliate against a federal official, Reuters reported.
