X Introduces Video Editor as Video Posts Near Half of Total Impressions

X product lead Nikita Bier responded to criticism that the platform is becoming like TikTok, as video posts on X now account for nearly half of total impressions. According to PANews, Bier said many videos from popular accounts are reposted from other users, sometimes using content that is up to five years old. The team said repeated reuse of content can negatively affect user experience and the business. In response, X has introduced a video editor for the first time, aiming to encourage creators to produce original videos that are exclusive to X. Bier also called on original creators, saying they face a significant opportunity. He added that while the algorithm may take time to recognize original content, accounts that are recognized could grow faster than others.
