According to Lianhe Zaobao citing AFP, a wildfire threatening Spain’s Costa Brava has burned about 2,200 hectares (8.5 square miles) of forest, forcing around 150 people to evacuate a holiday campsite, including about 70 children. Spain’s fire service said on Saturday, July 4, that firefighters had contained more than two-thirds of the blaze, with no casualties reported so far. The fire started Friday morning near La Bisbal d’Emporda, about 20 kilometers from the Costa Brava, and Spanish media cited local police as saying a suspected arsonist had been arrested, while the cause remains under investigation and may be linked to sparks from road construction equipment.
