China has expanded a pilot occupational injury insurance program for workers in new forms of employment nationwide starting this month.
According to Jin10, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said the rollout will fully extend the pilot across the country.
Among newly included platform companies, nine are in the mobility sector: T3 Mobility, Huaxiaozhu Mobility, Sunshine Mobility, Ruqi Mobility, Xiangdao Mobility, Jishi Mobility, Fengyun Mobility, Shouqi Ride-Hailing, and Meituan Ride-Hailing.
Five newly included platforms are in the on-demand delivery sector: Xiaoxiang Supermarket, Hema Fresh, Dingdong Maicai, Pupu Supermarket, and UU Paotui.
On this basis, provincial authorities will follow a “ready first, include first” approach to bring small and medium-sized platform companies registered in their provinces into the pilot across three pilot industries within the year.
