Huatai Securities said Xinluo Lithium Battery’s July pre-scheduled production data for the lithium battery supply chain showed sampled companies planned battery output of 181.4 GWh in July, up 3.2% month on month, according to 36Kr. Planned output for cathode materials totaled 237,000 tonnes (+6.2% MoM), anode materials 199,000 tonnes (+4.5% MoM), separators 2.21 billion square meters (+1.4% MoM), and electrolyte 133,000 tonnes (+6.8% MoM).
Huatai Securities said peak-season effects continued, with strong energy storage demand in China and overseas and accelerating global vehicle electrification. It forecast production schedules could accelerate in the second half of the year, and reiterated its view that the current lithium battery price upcycle remains favorable, while also highlighting industrial trends in sodium-ion batteries and the commercialization of solid-state battery technologies.
