Variant has announced the completion of a $222 million fundraising round for its new fund, Variant 4. According to Odaily, the investors involved in this round have not been disclosed. The fund aims to invest in companies at the earliest stages and support their growth.
Jesse Walden, a partner at Variant, stated that the new fund will expand its investment themes by integrating crypto, AI, and autonomy. Walden emphasized the potential of applications that offer users greater autonomy. He noted that over the past five years, crypto technology has often been misunderstood, leading to unmet expectations. However, he believes that crypto serves as an underlying pipeline supporting numerous products, and its growth story is just beginning.
