Spain's Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo stated on Friday that negotiations between the European Union and Anthropic regarding the testing of digital vulnerabilities discovered by the new Mythos AI model have made little progress. According to Jin10, Cuerpo made these remarks ahead of the EU finance ministers' meeting, emphasizing the importance of addressing this issue both in the short and long term. He noted, "Unfortunately, there has been limited progress in this area, and we will raise this issue again at today's meeting." Cuerpo's comments come weeks after EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis mentioned ongoing discussions with Anthropic on the matter. Cuerpo highlighted the global nature of financial stability, warning that disruptive models like Mythos could impact banks in the UK, Canada, and Europe, potentially spreading to the United States through interconnected systems.
