On April 20, Fluid, a DeFi protocol, announced the introduction of the aWETH redemption protocol. According to BlockBeats, the move comes as the utilization rate of ETH on the Aave platform has reached 100%, leaving many borrowers unable to withdraw funds and facing increased risks in the event of market fluctuations. The aWETH redemption protocol offers ETH borrowers the ability to redeem their assets as wstETH or weETH, immediately restore liquidity, and reduce liquidation risks.
Users who have only borrowed ETH can fully redeem their assets. For those with ETH collateral and other debts, the collateral will be seamlessly converted to wstETH or weETH, while the debt remains unchanged. Fluid is collaborating with Lido Finance, EtherFi, and other ecosystem partners to aim at reducing systemic risks in DeFi, alleviating usage pressure, and supporting a healthier DeFi market. The protocol has an initial capacity limit of $1 billion in ETH.
