Fuel prices in Seoul have surpassed 1,900 won per liter due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. According to Jin10, the South Korean government released data on Friday indicating that the average price of gasoline in the capital rose by 27.5 won to 1,916.5 won per liter, while diesel increased by 38.9 won to 1,934.1 won per liter. This marks the first time in three years and seven months that gasoline prices have exceeded 1,900 won per liter in Seoul. Diesel prices last crossed this threshold in December 2022, three years and three months ago. The government continues to caution against illegal activities such as price collusion.
