Nvidia, Google and Emerald AI have formed the AI Energy Management Alliance to dynamically manage data center electricity use based on grid conditions, according to Bloomberg. Varun Sivaram, founder and CEO of Emerald AI, joins to discuss the alliance.

Investors pulled about $1.8 billion from the municipal bond market this week as returns for state and local government debt were on track to fall for a third straight month, according to Bloomberg.

Global cross-border commercial real estate investment rose 56% year on year to $71.8 billion in the first half of 2026, according to research data. According to Sina Finance, that was well above about $46 billion in the same period last year. Europe attracted $39.9 billion, while Asia drew $19.3 billion, and the two regions together accounted for more than 82% of global cross-border investment. By destination, Europe accounted for about 55.6% of the global total, while Asia made up about 26.9%. Outside Europe and Asia, other regions received about $12.6 billion in cross-border investment. The report said cross-border investment refers to investors buying real estate assets in markets outside their place of registration. A survey of European investors at the start of the year showed 89% expected real estate buying activity to increase or remain stable in 2026. London remained the most closely watched cross-border investment city in Europe, followed by Madrid, Warsaw, Barcelona and Milan. In Asia, cross-border commercial real estate investment appetite also improved. The region attracted $19.3 billion in cross-border funds in the first half, and more than 57% of respondents said they planned to increase real estate investment in 2026. Office properties became the most preferred commercial real estate category among Asian investors for the first time in six years, followed by industrial and logistics facilities, living assets and data centers. Tokyo was ranked the most favored cross-border investment destination in Asia for the seventh consecutive year, followed by Sydney, with Singapore and Seoul tied for third. Global direct real estate investment rose 28% year on year in the second quarter, with investment up 38% in Asia-Pacific, 27% in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and 26% in the Americas. The report said financing costs could still limit transaction speed in the second half.

According to Wallstreetcn, WTI October crude oil futures settled at $100.30 a barrel, NYMEX October natural gas futures settled at $2.9120 per million British thermal units, NYMEX October gasoline futures settled at $3.5276 a gallon, and NYMEX October heating oil futures settled at $5.0578 a gallon.

According to CNBC, municipal bonds are offering more attractive tax-exempt income opportunities as the Federal Reserve keeps raising interest rates and Treasury yields remain elevated, with the 10-year Treasury reaching 5% on Friday. The Bloomberg Municipal Bond Index is yielding about 4.3%, while Chris Gunster, head of fixed income at Fidelis Capital, said that translates to a 7.3% tax-equivalent yield for investors in the highest tax bracket. The iShares National Muni Bond ETF (MUB) has a 30-day SEC yield of 3.8% and an expense ratio of 0.05%. Bank of America strategist Yingchen Li said the muni market is waiting for stability in Treasurys after the yield curve flattened sharply this week, and said the Fed's firmer stance plus Treasury buybacks of long bonds should support munis. The Treasury Department said last week it will buy back up to $6 billion in longer-term debt. Barclays also said it is adding exposure to municipals, with Mikhail Foux saying muni ratios have widened, index yields are near multi-year highs and investors should gradually add higher-quality names.

Meltem Demirors said Bitcoin helped build infrastructure that is now supporting artificial intelligence, but she argued that the technology’s ultimate output was not the one she would have chosen. According to NS3.AI, she said crypto companies and miners have brought energy and computing expertise into AI, while the shift by miners toward AI and high-performance computing raises a legitimate concern for Bitcoin’s security. Demirors added that Bitcoin’s difficulty adjustment can help the network adapt as computing power moves elsewhere.

Catcher Predict monitoring showed that the Aurora Gaming option in Polymarket’s submarket for the Counter-Strike StarLadder StarSeries playoff match between NRG and Aurora Gaming fell sharply. According to ChainCatcher, the option’s implied win probability in the map handicap market dropped from 73.5% one hour earlier to 56.5%, a 17% swing.

Westinghouse Electric Co. is targeting a valuation of more than $50 billion in its US initial public offering, according to people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported. The company provides reactor technology to nuclear power plants.

According to CNBC, SpaceX has expanded its contract with NASA and will carry out three additional crewed Dragon flights to the International Space Station through 2030, with the work worth up to $946 million if completed. The award lifts SpaceX's total missions under NASA's Commercial Crew Transportation Capability contract to 17 operational flights, and NASA said the deal helps it maintain access to the station with two commercial crew providers. SpaceX will handle ground, launch, in-orbit, cargo transport, and return and recovery operations, along with lifeboat capability while docked to the ISS. Under the contract, SpaceX will have earned $5.92 billion from NASA. NASA said Crew 13 is expected to launch in October and Crew 14 is slated for next spring.
