Circle has completed the genesis minting of 10 billion ARC tokens for its Arc network and plans to transition the network to proof-of-stake (PoS) in 2027. According to Odaily, Circle is the first publicly traded company to mint a network token for a new Layer 1 blockchain; ARC is intended for network security, utility and governance.
