The government of Kosovo has reinstated a ban on cryptocurrency mining with the aim of maintaining energy supplies in the coming months, with the restriction initially for two months and extendable for up to six months, Investing reported. Kosovo is a disputed and limitedly recognized state located in the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. Last winter, when Kosovo was facing energy shortages, it banned cryptocurrency mining and tracked down the operators of illegal mining facilities, confiscating mining equipment in multiple police raids.
