Reid Hoffman Gives $8 Million to Wisconsin Democrats as Epstein Fight Enters Election

CNBC reported that billionaire venture capitalist Reid Hoffman gave $8 million to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin over five weeks to support gubernatorial nominee David Crowley against Republican Tom Tiffany. The contributions, made in four installments from Sept. 24 through Oct. 20, came as Democrats ran ads in House races focused on Jeffrey Epstein and Republicans criticized the party for accepting Hoffman’s money. Hoffman has acknowledged meeting Epstein after the financier’s 2008 conviction and has said he regrets continuing the relationship. House Majority PAC, which received $8.5 million from Hoffman this cycle, ran 13 Epstein-related ads in the past two weeks, spending about $8.4 million, according to AdImpact. Contributions to super PACs are pooled, so Hoffman’s money cannot be traced to specific ads.
