BeyondTrust Security Adviser Says Hacking Fits Iran's Geopolitical Position

According to Jin10, BeyondTrust chief security adviser Mory Haber said hacking is an asymmetric weapon that fits Iran's geopolitical position. He said the attacks do not require aircraft, missiles, or personnel on U.S. soil, while also creating ambiguity over attribution and how to respond proportionately. Haber added that Iran's attacks are not especially complex from a technical standpoint, but the hackers appear to have achieved notable results by exploiting weak cybersecurity defenses, including outdated systems, poor password credential management, and devices that were connected to the internet without necessity.
