TSMC shares rose 1.7% in premarket trading to $433.1. According to Odaily, a report said Apple’s next-generation flagship chip, the A22 Pro, may use TSMC’s 1.4-nanometer process and is expected to launch in 2028.
The report said the A22 Pro would be Apple’s first system-on-a-chip to use the 1.4nm process and could debut in a high-end iPhone model released in 2028.
TSMC previously disclosed that compared with its 2nm process, the 1.4nm process could deliver about a 15% to 16% performance improvement at the same power level, or reduce power consumption by about 27% to 30% at the same performance level.
