Polymarket has announced an exclusive partnership with Berlin-based digital football platform OneFootball, aiming to integrate its prediction market into OneFootball's ecosystem of 200 million monthly active users and 645 million football fans. This collaboration is set to launch approximately two weeks before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to ChainCatcher, Polymarket will be the sole prediction market partner within the OneFootball app, excluding competitors like Kalshi.
This marks Polymarket's seventh major football partnership this year and its first collaboration targeting a media application distribution channel. Previous agreements include partnerships with MLS, LaLiga, Serie A, Lazio, and DAZN.
Pew Research Center's analysis indicates that since July 2024, sports have accounted for 39% of Polymarket's total trading volume. The market for predicting the 2026 World Cup champion has exceeded $1.2 billion in trading volume since its launch in July last year, with broader World Cup-related markets totaling approximately $1.3 billion.
OneFootball has previously launched the OFC token and BALLS points system based on Base and Ethereum. The integration with Polymarket will enable user engagement to translate into actual transactions. OneFootball has raised over $300 million in funding, with investors including Liberty City Ventures, Animoca Brands, and Adidas.
