Trump Rejects Iran-Oman Plan to Control Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his views on Wednesday regarding reports of Iran and Oman jointly controlling the Strait of Hormuz. According to Odaily, Trump stated that Oman "will behave well" and rejected any such mechanism, warning, "otherwise we will have to bomb them." Iran had proposed collaborating with Oman to manage and regulate maritime traffic in the strait between the two countries. Additionally, Iran considered establishing a joint toll mechanism with Oman, but the proposal faced opposition from the United States. Following a cabinet meeting, Trump told reporters, "No one can control the strait. It will remain open to everyone," and emphasized that the U.S. would "closely monitor the situation." He added, "Oman will act like other countries, or we will have to bomb them. They understand this, so there will be no issues."
